Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), who has been trying to raise her national profile with the hope of gaining the inside track for the 2020 Democratic nomination, has now weighed in on the high school shooting in Parkland, Florida. But, as usual with Harris, she often puts her foot in it more.
Harris made two glaringly awful statements in her remarks.
“This may sound harsh, but as a prosecutor for years, in appreciating homicide, and being able to talk to a judge about it and a jury about it, I took them autopsy photographs. When you see the effect of this extreme violence and especially the body of a child, maybe it will shock people into understanding this cannot be a political issue. We have to be practical. I support the Second Amendment. We have to have smart gun safety laws. And we cannot tolerate a society and live in a country with any level of pride when our babies are being slaughtered.”

First, you’re going to take pictures of the dead children and spread them all over society. Because it serves your political purpose? Are you joking?
How do you think their parents would feel about that? About you exploiting them such a gruesome way for your aims?
And then second, you object now to the slaughter of babies? Is that before or after you took money for your campaign from Planned Parenthood? You know, the people who have killed millions of babies? The people who you support to kill babies after twenty weeks in the womb?
You would think that Harris might have the sense to know how her comment might be taken, but she has a gift for the gaffe. And she likely thinks so little of life in the womb that the awareness of the problem of her comment probably didn’t even occur to her.
Even if Harris didn’t have any idea what she was saying, people weren’t shy about telling her.
